Meet Dr. James Nuttall, MD

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. James Nuttall is a double board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement, fracture care, musculoskeletal oncology, limb salvage, and complex reconstructive surgery. He completed medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, orthopaedic surgery residency at McMaster University in Canada, and advanced fellowship training in limb salvage, complex reconstruction, and orthopaedic oncology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

He has extensive experience treating arthritis, traumatic injuries, complex joint conditions, bone and soft tissue tumors, and revision joint replacement surgery. He was also among the earliest surgeons in Indiana to adopt robotic arm-assisted joint replacement technology to improve surgical precision and patient outcomes.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Nuttall has been a lifelong athlete. He competed as a member of Cornell University's NCAA Division I rowing team and later served as Head Coach of the University of Toronto Women's Rowing Team.
